Pictured above is our Club Secretary handing Andy"twinkletoes" Nolan his trophy for winning last man Standing in the first quarter of the year. After coming second at the back end of last year when loosing only in a dodge off, it has to be said that Andy deserved this title this time around is is definitely the one to watch this time around.
That said week 1 was dominated by a newcomer in the form of Lee Halligan. Lee is fairly new to the game but has taking to it like duck to water with some fine performances in our games and from memory i think this is his second time winning last man standing in a short space of time and will definitely be one player to keep an eye on this time around. Hopefully Lee can get together with some of the other new players and start a new team in our up and coming Premier League. The last women standing has been dominated by Aine fewer in what seems like forever and this week proved to be no different with Aine nearly coming second overall and was the last women standing.Well done to both Lee and Aine!!

The Waterford Dodeball Premier League will be starting on the 30th of April. The main aim of this league is to provide a competitive edge to Dodgeball in Waterford which will in turn improve our players at national tournaments or even when they step up to national level. So far we currently have 3 teams entered.
1. Moneyshotz -
The shotz are spearheaded by Waterfords most capped Irish player in the form of Conor Cullen. Conor has put together powerful team with no less than 5 internationals in their side and will no doubt be favourites to win the title this year. The favourite tag is further backed up by the fact that money shotz won the last league title in Waterford some 2 years ago and they will certainly prove to be the team to beat this time around.
2. Reservoir Dodge
Reservoir dodge are captained by Ed Purcell who is famous for 3 things. His beard, his blue pants and his dodgeball skills. Any team with Ed in it has a strong chance in any league but back that up with 4 internationals, a Jesus lookalike and a mayo man and it is not hard to see that this team will be serious contenders to lift the crown to become champions. These guys will be definitely be the one to watch and if they can all click on the court at the same time than they will be incredible hard to beat.
3. Blue Cobras
The cobras led by Sam Bachelor will be going into this league currently as the underdogs. Currently in a bit of a transitional period in terms of their name (formerly the toddlers) and also personnel as most of the original toddlers have now moved on. Although they have the tags of underdogs, the Cobras cannot be ruled out if their tournament form is anything to go by. Unbeating against the shotz (p2, w2) came 1st in the irish open B tournament in 2012, 3rd in the irish open in Belfast last year and 2nd in the tournament haven in Dublin last year also. The Cobras will find it tough going this time around but can pull off a shock if their experienced players gel quickly. We are hoping to add more teams to the league over the next few weeks. Registration cut-off is Friday 18th of April and the league itself will start the following Wednesday.
There is €10 registration fee and €30 deposit is required . Don't worry this will be returned to the team for attendance of all matches. On match day the cost is €5 per person or €30 per team, so if you have more than 6 players it will cost less than €5 each and you will be guaranteed 18 games of dodgeball.
I mentioned earlier we have some very good new players who has came down recently and hopefully they can put in a team. If anyone else would like to enter a team or would like more information on the league than leave a comment below or email Derek@dodgeball.ie and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
