Brief Summary

Dodgeball is a game which can be played almost anywhere. Due to the nature of weather in Ireland, indoor is the preferred option. Although we play outside when the weather allows us

We play every Wednesday night from 7pm - 8-30pm at De La Salle College Hall, Newtown Road, Waterord.

Each game begins with 6 players on each side of the court. On the referee's whistle three players from each team sprint to the "dead zone" (the dead zone is an area in the centre of the court where the balls are placed and only the players upper body is allowed enter) to contest for all three balls. Once the balls are retreived and returned to the back wall then play can begin.
The initial sprint
The aim of the game is to elimate all opposing players. Each game is two minutes long and the team with the most players left on the court win the game. If you are hit with the ball you are "out". If a player catches a ball, the player who threw the ball is "out" and an eliminated player from the catcher's team can return to play, (first player out is the first player back in). If a ball strikes the floor, a wall or a player before striking you, you are not out as the ball has become a "dead ball". You can use a ball in your posession to block an opponents ball.Players can also be called "out" if they leave the court boundaries, (this includes, stepping on the boundary lines i.e. sidelines, back line and dead zone line. Verbally attacking the opposition and referees is deemed as unsportsmanlike and will result in the player been balled "out".

The most Important rule of Dodgeball is to have fun so make sure you enjoy it :)
